Obstetrics Fistula -Hidden tragedy of Nepalese women
Fistula Free Nepal (FFN) with collaboration with PSRN, BPKIHS,obstetrics and gynecology department of bpkihs, under command of Associate professor Dr. Mohan regmi( well known nepali fistula specialist) free fistula and pelvic organ prolapse screening camp was successfully completed  in remote hilly part (2500 m above sea level) of Udaypur district of Eastern Nepal. PSRN, FFN  with 21 medical staffs travelled 5.5 hours , stayed at night and successfully conducted the screening camp.

Status of the Fistula Screening and Awareness Camp

• 10% morbidity of fistula and pelvic organ prolapse was found
• General health check-up
• Sensitization of TBA, FCHVs, MID WIFE and community health staffs about the issue
• School education free pamphlets, posters, FM radio stations were used used for awareness
• Pleased with our work, District health officer and fistula free Nepal concluded to give free transportation, free treatment and other allowances to the patients. This was indeed great achievement for us.
